Sciton HALO: Non-Surgical Laser Treatment in Bellevue & Seattle, WA

How is HALO different than other Fractional laser treatments?

Halo Laser restores your skin’s youthful glow. Over time, sun damage and the body’s natural aging process can cause your skin to have sun spots, fine lines, and lose its natural, healthy appearance.

Halo™, the world’s first Hybrid Fractional Laser, is revolutionizing resurfacing. Halo™’s unique dual wavelength laser technology repairs the deep effects of sun damage and aging skin, reduces pore size, wrinkles, improves skin tone and builds new collagen in just one or two treatments with minimal downtime.

The results are even more dramatic when combined with our BBL™ Laser, with a greater reduction of wrinkles, sun damage and spider veins in one treatment! The Stern Center, located in Bellevue, WA offers both the Halo™ & BBL™ Laser in our office!

Sciton Laser has recently awarded the Diamond Level Distinguished Partner for the Advancement of Skin Revitalization Award to The Stern Center – having performed the greatest number of HALO Laser procedures in a 5-State region of the Northwest!

Benefits of HALO Laser

Long-term sun exposure, active lifestyles, and the wear and tear of everyday life take a toll on our skin, leading to sagging, wrinkles and creases, areas of pigmentation, and an overall older appearance. Laser skin rejuvenation with HALO is meant to address this damage. Because it combines non-ablative energy and mildly ablative energy, it isn’t a harsh treatment that leaves your skin damaged and red.

The energy delivered into the epidermis is absorbed by sun-damaged areas, causing pigment from the damaged skin to rise to the surface and peel off within a few days.

The energy delivered into the dermis triggers collagen remodeling and skin regeneration, improving the skin from beneath.

The HALO system also continually monitors the temperature of the skin, and it has an integrated cooling system that keeps you comfortable.

What skin concerns can HALO treat?

  • Areas of pigmentation
  • Sun damage
  • Visible signs of aging
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Enlarged pores
  • Poor texture
  • Fine lines
  • Acne scarring

Is HALO Treatment Painful?

The non-surgical procedure is not painful, with patients equating it to a slight prickling sensation. The topical anesthetic combined with HALO’s integrated cooling technology keeps you comfortable. After your treatment, your skin continues to feel warm for 15-30 minutes, or somewhat longer with deeper treatment levels.

When you arrive to our Bellevue offices for your HALO treatment, we first apply a topical numbing cream. This will take about 20 minutes to fully take effect. We also provide the optional use of ProNox™ during the treatment, which is a self-administered Nitrous Oxide Delivery System Analgesic (50% Nitrous/50% Oxygen) and helps relieve the discomfort and anxiety some patients may experience during cosmetic procedures (similar to ‘laughing gas’).

To start your non-surgical treatment, we first measure your face with HALO’s motion-tracking technology. This ensures that all of your skin receives equal laser energy, which can be a problem with other procedures where the aesthetician has to track the areas covered. The HALO handpiece is then rolled over each section of your facial skin until all areas have been covered, which is verified by the motion-tracking sensor.

Results of HALO Laser

Thanks to its simultaneous delivery of the two laser wavelengths, HALO provides complete skin rejuvenation. You will see a significant reduction of age spots, areas of uneven pigmentation, and other sun damage. The overall tone and texture will improve. You’ll also see a reduction in fine lines, reduced pore size, and an overall improvement in your skin’s vibrancy.

How many HALO laser treatments will I need?

A great feature of the HALO system is that you can decide the degree of improvement you want and how fast. Your amount of sun damage is really what dictates what you’ll want to achieve with our HALO sessions at The Stern Center. Non-Surgical laser treatments can be more aggressive or less aggressive depending on your timeframe and how many sessions you would like to have.

When to expect results after HALO treatment

Initial results from HALO will begin to show themselves in just 2-5 days after your session. Initially many of your sun damage spots will darken before they begin to peel away. This is a response to the wavelength targeting the epidermis, and your pigmentation will improve over the first 2-3 weeks. Beyond that, the energy targeting the dermis will lead to a phase of dermal regeneration that will continue for months after your Halo treatment, resulting in tightening of your skin with a reduction of pore size and smoother wrinkles.

How long will results last after HALO?

HALO’s hybrid laser energy removes age spots, areas of hyperpigmentation, and other sun-damaged skin. These are permanent changes. Of course, you can develop new sunspots and the like if you don’t respect your skin. You’ll be amazed at the difference, and as long as you protect your skin from UV damage your results will endure.

What To Expect After HALO Laser Treatment

Your skin will feel warm, usually for about an hour after your HALO treatment. Your skin will be red and you may swell for 3-5 days. If we target a little deeper, this can last a little longer. You need to keep your skin protected and calm for the first day after your treatment, but you should be able to go about your regular activities as long as you avoid strong sun exposure for several days. It’s generally fine to wear light makeup by day 3 to cover up any redness. You’ll have some light peeling over the first 5 days, as mentioned above.
