Micro Laser Peel in Bellevue and Seattle
For many years, the Stern Center has been at the forefront of facial laser cosmetic procedures.
We are excited to offer the most comprehensive menu of laser treatments available in the Puget Sound Region using our state-of-the-art Sciton Profile™ Laser system.
For those individuals with fine wrinkles and milder sun damage who have little time for recovery, our erbium MicroLaserPeel™, also known as the “Weekend Peel”, might be an excellent alternative to a deep laser resurfacing peel.
The MicroLaserPeel™ is an intra-epidermal erbium laser peel that precisely ablates the outermost layer of skin.
Unlike the deeper laser peels, sun damage and wrinkles of the neck and chest may be treated as well as the face.
The procedure takes about a half hour and is performed using topical anesthetic gel and our new Syneron® Cooling device, reducing discomfort to a minimum. Healing takes about 3 days—the true “Weekend” Peel!
Who Is the Best Candidate for a MicroLaserPeel?
The MicroLaserPeel is perfect for people looking for an addition to their anti-aging routine. It’s the ideal treatment to remove mild to deep wrinkles caused by UV exposure.
A MicroLaserPeel can also improve sun damage and scars. It works particularly well on acne scars. Best of all, this type of laser peel can treat the face, neck, and chest.
Some patients, including those with active acne or deep skin tones, might want to avoid this treatment. Our staff will determine your candidacy for a MicroLaserPeel during a consultation.
Can a MicroLaserPeel Be Combined With Other Cosmetic Services?
Yes. MicroLaserPeels are often performed as part of a comprehensive rejuvenation plan. This service can improve the results of other aesthetic treatments as well as facial plastic surgery.
MicroLaserPeels make the skin look healthier, younger, and more vibrant. That means they pair very well with treatments that are designed to target conditions located deeper in the skin.
Everyone has unique needs when it comes to aesthetic treatments. We will create a custom plan to achieve your goals. Schedule a consultation at our Bellevue office to get started!
How Many Sessions Are Needed To Get the Best Results?
Most patients will benefit from one to three MicroLaserPeel treatment sessions. However, you might decide to schedule additional laser peel appointments based on your specific situation.
Your provider will personalize your treatment plan to tackle your specific complexion concerns based on your timeline and budget. The treatment itself is versatile and highly customizable.
Is Getting a MicroLaserPeel Painful?
MicroLaserPeel is very tolerable in most cases. Still, we take every precaution to ensure your MicroLaserPeel is as comfortable as possible.
Before placing the device on your skin, we will apply a topical numbing cream and let it take effect. We frequently use our new Syneron Cooling device to further reduce any discomfort. You can also take ibuprofen or acetaminophen before you arrive.
For patients who feel particularly anxious, we provide the optional use of ProNox™ during treatment. It is a self-administered delivery of nitrous oxide similar to what dentists use.
Are There Any Risks Involved With the Treatment?
MicroLaserPeels are generally considered to be safe and effective. You may experience mild and temporary side effects after your treatment, such as swelling, blistering, crusting, or peeling. These are normal reactions to a MicroLaserPeel and help signal that rejuvenation is occurring.
Without good aftercare, it’s possible to experience infection or scarring. Don’t scratch, pick, or shave your skin during the healing phase. Cleanse your skin with mild soap and tepid water. You may also be instructed to use a vinegar or saline solution to keep the area clean. To promote faster healing, remember to keep your skin lubricated by moisturizing as directed.
Your healing skin will be more sensitive to the sun. Regularly apply sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher and consider wearing wide-brimmed hats and other protective clothing items.
