What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or enhance facial contours. Depending which filler is used, the effect may last from 6 months up to 2 years.
What areas can be treated with dermal fillers?
Almost any area of the face may be safely injected with dermal filler to reduce wrinkles, restore lost volume, or recontour the cheeks, nose or lips. Other parts of the body, including the hands may be injected with filler to fill contour defects, reduce unsightly veins and restore a more youthful appearance.

Though there is some overlap in their use, the various treatments have different indications and actions. After a careful examination and discussion with you regarding your goals and expectations, Dr. Stern can recommend which best suits your needs.
