Background
Before joining the Stern Center team, Karen spent her entire nursing career in cardiology, including surgical and procedural treatments for cardiac arrythmias. Although she loved cardiology, her motivation for making a change to aesthetics was to move away from illness and work more around wellness!
As our surgical nurse at the Stern Center since 2016 Karen has spent the past six years observing and training in the world of aesthetics. Dr. Stern noticed her excellent skills with procedures and performing injections and encouraged her to consider expanding her skills to learn facial injections. As one of the original Faculty members for Botox Cosmetic™ Dr. Stern has personally trained Karen, who now sees many new and existing patients for injection services. She has loved learning facial anatomy, the latest injection techniques and has had tremendous educational support from our industry partners.
Nurse Karen not only performs facial injections, she also coordinates and injects Vitamin Drips for our patients (and office staff!) when in need of a little vitamin boost! In addition, Karen loves and has experienced many of our laser and injectables services personally, so be sure to inquire about our procedures – she knows the process of our treatments firsthand!
Outside of work, Karen is your classic northwest athlete! She loves the outdoors, horses, cross-country skiing, she hikes, bikes, runs, loves to travel, spend as much time as possible with her four children, and tries not to adopt too many of her daughter’s foster puppies! All while keeping health and wellness a priority.
Fun Fact: Nurse Karen has been voted “Best Nurse” in 425 Magazine’s Best of 425 in both 2021 and 2022!
